Jude has recently joined AbacusBio
from AgResearch, where she worked as
a scientist on commercial DNA test
systems for sheep. Working with
Ovita, she has been involved in the
development of the Catapult Shepherd
pedigree and DNA breeding value
software, as well as working
directly with Catapult on the
delivery of results to clients.
Prior to that Jude was involved in
development of the G3 hybrid test
for testing elk purity in both New
Zealand and North America.
Born and bred in Dunedin, Jude
originally trained as a Medical
Technologist, specializing in
clinical biochemistry. She worked in
clinical biochemistry laboratories
in both Dunedin and Christchurch,
then returned to Dunedin to complete
her Masters of Applied Science in
animal biochemistry.
At AbacusBio, Jude is working on
models to evaluate the cost
effectiveness of new technologies
for farmers. She is particularly
interested in the practical
application of DNA based tests in
the livestock industry.
