An easy-to-operate database allowing breeders and farmers to record performance of individual animals from their flocks, OviGol® provides breeding values and economic selection indexes for a number of commercially important traits.
Designed to increase productivity by allowing farmers to compare animals based on genetic merit, OviGol® makes it possible to determine the best sires for specific ewes, while defining the most appropriate ewe lambs or hoggets to be kept as replacements.
A genetic evaluation database combined with a quantitative genetics engine, the tool is focused on objective traits with direct economic importance to the farming operation, such as weaning weight, number of lambs born, disease resistance and eye muscle area.
OviGol® has been profitably used by South American farmers to support breeding and selection decisions since 2008.
