4th Red Meat Sector Conference 2014
AbacusBio consultant Anna Campbell was among 290 people from across the meat industry, who attended the fourth Red Meat Sector Conference held at Te Papa in Wellington from 27 to 28 July.
Hosted by the Meat Industry Association and Beef + Lamb New Zealand, the conference aims to promote and foster the red meat sector by engaging farmers, industry, and service providers, as well as showcasing expertise and best practice.
The major highlights of the conference were a welcome cocktail function on the evening of 27 July and a gala dinner on the evening of 28 July.
The conference started with a multi-party panel of politicians speaking on 'The Future of the New Zealand Red Meat Industry – what can our Party do for you and what you can do for us', followed by the welcome cocktail party.
The first full day featured 10 presentations followed by the gala dinner. Positive and promising messages were heard about the global economy and its influence on international meat trade as well as industry and government support.
