Often the first question that needs to be considered
when assessing a piece of technology or body of knowledge, is where does it
fit within the wider science or technology world? Is it unique? Is it
leading edge, or yesterday’s development? What is the potential commercial
impact of the technology? Being able to review the international landscape
in reference to your piece of science or technology is a vital step in the
assessment of a new opportunity.
AbacusBio staff have completed detailed technology reviews and evaluations
in a range of areas and for a range of applications. From detailed reviews
of basic science (literature-based) to general updates on the direction of
research fields and current technologies, we have the ability to quickly
identify the key developments internationally, and provide the information
required for any local application.
The depth of our scientific skills in supporting this work is demonstrated
by the participation of key staff in international scientific review panels:
- Chair of Ovita international scientific review panel
- Member of DRDC international scientific review panel
- Member of Teagasc international scientific review panel
- Completion of international review into global sheep genetics research
(including identification of key centres of research excellence).
We also provide reviews of investment and funding proposals for researchers
applying to governmental and industry bodies.
At AbacusBio we have a wealth of experience in practical and outcome-driven
research and use this to design or analyse research and technology development.
These services have helped produce new information and technology that is
functional, cost-effective and easily delivered to the investor.
